My life as an evaluator: Stories from the field to induce laughter and learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Kelly Hannum (Aligned Impact LLC), Julian King (Julian King & Associates LTD), B.A. Laris (ETRUS), Amy Gullickson (University of Melbourne), Krystin Martens (University of Melbourne), Ian Patrick (Ian Patrick and Associates)

In this session, five professional evaluators draw on decades of experience doing evaluation all over the world, ranging from small local evaluation projects to large multi-site international projects. Panelists share surprising, and at times embarrassing, moments and how they handled them. Stories include mishaps and mistakes related to fieldwork in unfamiliar settings and technology gone awry.  Panelists will engage the audience in discussions about alternative responses and lessons learned. If you have ever wondered what happens behind the scenes in an evaluation, join us for a reflective session filled with lessons and humour.

This session is primarily for graduate students and early career evaluators.
